We see celebrities at parties, on the red carpet, giving interviews, and we all can’t help but wonder if that perfect skin is a real thing or just the work of a talented makeup artist. 

Jennifer Lopez is on her social media accounts posting selfie’s fresh from the shower. So… no makeup and her skin is glowing. No visible lines or wrinkles, no large pores, a healthy complexion for a 20-year-old woman. Only thing is, she is decades from her 20s, and she is not the only one.

So we took up the challenge to do some research and come up with a list of tips and tricks for glowing skin, all from our favourite celebrities! Let's dive in and have a look!

If you are not in your 20s anymore, the chances are that an eye cream or eye serum might be good for you. Even if there are no signs of premature aging around your eyes, an eye cream could still prove beneficial. Drew Barrymore is just one of the celebrities who professed her love for eye creams. She favours creams that address dark circles and puffiness.

Moisturise… and then some more

Moisturising is essential if your aim is glowing skin. Dry or dehydrated skin looks dull, so if you want beauty from within, moisturise, moisturise, and moisturise. Elizabeth Hurley mentioned using her moisturiser ten times per day. Maybe this is a bit much, but twice a day – morning and evening – should be good enough!

Try glycolic acid

I've started the article mentioning J. Lo (a personal favourite!). Among her recommendations, it's glycolic acid. She uses it to promote new skin cell renewal. And this is definitely something you want to try if you want glowing skin.

Get rid of stress

Skin experts today know that it doesn't really matter how good your skin routine is - if you are always stressed out, it will show on your skin. This is why you might notice that after a particularly difficult period at work or home, the skin looks lifeless and lacks a healthy glow. 

Cate Blanchett is one of the celebrities that advise us to eliminate stress as much as possible to get a better glow. If removing stress altogether is not an option for you, try getting occasional facial massages, they help!


Take care of yourself and experiment

(Another personal favourite!) Sofia Vergara is a big fan of self-care and experimenting. She mentions she takes care of herself as much as she can, and this is something we should all do.

Self-care should be our number 1 priority. Achieving this simple goal will do much more than giving us a glowing face, that's for sure! 

Even if you have a skincare routine you've been using for years and it seems to work, you should still pamper yourself occasionally with new skin products and therapies suitable for your skin type. 


Exfoliate regularly

When it comes to exfoliating the skin, it can undoubtedly deliver good results in terms of the glow of the skin. Eliminating dead skin cells and deep cleansing the pores using a scrub is recommended once or twice a week, depending on your skin type and condition. Jennifer Lawrence is just one of the celebrities praising the benefits of regular scrubbing. 

It's important to know that too much exfoliation can damage your skin, so only use the scrub on a weekly basis. Also, make sure to moisturise the skin after deep cleansing it with the scrub. 


Try rosehip oil

Are you wondering what Miranda Kerr's beauty secret is? She did mention rosehip oil, as well as other treatments (leech facials, for example). I am not keen on trying the leeches, but rosehip oil does sound like something that would help with skin glow. 

Rosehip oil has multiple benefits for the skin. It can help regenerate skin tissues, reduces wrinkles and fine lines, and sustains skin firmness. Rosehip oil can ensure proper levels of hydration, evens out the skin, and can minimize pigmentation spots.


Brush away dead skin cells

When it comes to a holistic approach to life, skin care, and others, Gwyneth Paltrow is the celebrity to look out for advice. And dry brushing is one of the beauty rituals she believes in.

Skin brushing is ideal for getting rid of dead skin cells and promoting skin circulation. Using the brush, you can also perform a gentle facial massage (and we've already discussed that massages are a good idea!).


Never leave home without sunscreen

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the former Victoria Secret's angel, never gets outside without sunscreen. And there are plenty of celebrities supporting this beauty/health trend. Among them, we can mention Charlize Theron, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, and Jennifer Lopez.
